Communications Intern

The Sisters of the Divine Savior, also known as Salvatorian Sisters are an international group of Roman Catholic women religious who minister in 27 countries on five continents. The Mission Advancement Office in Milwaukee serves the congregation’s North American Province to raise awareness of the Salvatorian Sisters’ mission; develop ongoing support for their U.S. and worldwide ministries; and promote Salvatorian religious life as a viable option for young women in today’s world.

Goal of internship program

Provide a variety of experience in public relations and marketing activities managed by the Mission Advancement Office to cultivate and strengthen donor relationships, and encourage young women to learn more about Salvatorian religious life. These activities include:

  • developing content for use on SDS web site and social media platforms
  • writing stories and placing with media outlets
  • maintaining social media engagement
  • publicizing special events


  • 12 hours (between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) per week for 15 weeks (180 hours/semester)
  • Collaborate with three-person Mission Advancement team and New Membership Director
  • Stipend offered


  • College junior or senior earning a degree in communications, marketing or public relations
  • Strong interviewing, writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Proficiency on social media platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter
  • Reliable employment history

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Sound judgment regarding confidentiality
  • Desire to work as part of a team

Helpful experience

  • Word Press content management, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suites
  • Photography and videography skills
